Hi, I’m Melanie
I’m a wedding photographer based in Rawtenstall, East Lancashire. I’ve loved photography ever since my granddad gave me my first camera all that time ago and taught me how to develop film. But it was whilst backpacking a few years back I really found my passion for photographing people and capturing emotion. Not long after that I was asked to shoot my first wedding, loved every single minute of it and was hooked!
So, that’s a little bit of background, what else can I tell you? Well, I’m a huge fan of music from northern soul to folk, but am still an indie kid at heart. I love a good Wes Anderson or Bette Davis film. I like the sound of a needle dropping onto vinyl. Give me a vintage frock instead of denim…..I’m also mum to Fritz & Edith, partner to Paul and own a scruffy Patterdale terrier called Eric. Oh, and I can’t walk past a charity shop without going in to hunt for “treasure”.
I’ve worked across Lancashire, Manchester, Cheshire and Yorkshire (so far…). My work has been featured in Little White Books Wedding Magazine, Vintage Life Magazine and Marry Me Ink Wedding Blog.
And you? You’re laid back, creatively minded and laugh….a lot!. You want to do your wedding your own unique way, not how people say you should. Your wedding is going to be personal, relaxed and fun and you want a photographer who will fit in with you & your day (and appreciate the playlist you’ve spent hours compiling). You really care about photography and believe it’s worth investing in amazing memories you can cherish forever. You’re thinking that if we met somewhere else we’d probably become friends.
Sound good so far? Great!… put your feet up and explore the gallery over on my Weddings page. After that, why not take a look at my blog for more wedding goodness x
